The Swiss watch manufacturer Fake IWC Schaffhausen has been creating innovative and technical masterpieces since 1868. For its 150th anniversary, IWC is reissuing some of its historical icons. We present these four newly interpreted models to you here.
The company
IWC International Watch Co. AG is a Swiss watch manufacturer based in the city of Schaffhausen on the Upper Rhine. The abbreviation IWC stands for International Watch Company.
The company was founded in 1868 by the American watchmaker Florentina Ariosto Jones and aimed to combine Swiss craftsmanship with American manufacturing technology. Switzerland was an extremely attractive location for this project because there were enough qualified watchmakers there.
In 1874, IWC was converted into a stock corporation and in the following year a new production building was built and new machines were purchased. However, the expensive investments as well as the economic crisis and the high import tariffs in the USA had a negative impact on IWC’s success to date.
Economic success was only achieved again under the leadership of the Schaffhausen industrialist Johannes Rauschenbach-Vogel and suffered a repeated setback due to the boom in newly developed quartz watches in the 1970s and 1980s. Since the Swiss manufacturer has returned to classic mechanical complications, it has built on previous successes.
IWC Portuguese
Five models from the IWC Portugieser collection are being re-released for the anniversary: the Portugieser constant force tourbillon with a simple moon phase display, the Portugieser perpetual calendar with and without a tourbillon, the Portugieser chronograph and the Portugieser hand-wound eight day watch.

IWC Da Vinci
The anniversary edition Da Vinci Automatic Edition has at its heart the newly developed in-house caliber 82200. This automatic movement offers a small seconds at six o’clock and a power reserve of 60 hours. The components of the elevator that are subject to particularly high stress are also made of almost wear-free ceramic.
The Da Vinci Automatic Moon Phase 36 Edition takes up the tradition of elaborately decorated jewelry watches from the 1990s. Both watches have a moon phase display at twelve o’clock.
IWC Big Pilot
The large pilot’s watch Big Pilot with the IWC-manufactured caliber 52850 is the only anniversary edition to have an annual calendar. Anyone who chooses the Big Pilot with the caliber 59235 will have the advantage of a large-digit date display. If you like to measure your time very precisely, for example to determine your sporting training success, the Big Pilot Chronograph may be the right timepiece for you.
IWC Portofino
The Portofino hand-wound moon phase is also newly interpreted in the anniversary year with the in-house caliber 59800. Its caliber has a power reserve of an incredible 192 hours, a date display and a small second with stop function.
