Fake TAG Heuer and Kith, the world’s leading leisurewear brand, have joined forces to bring a myth back to life: the Formula 1 Series 1, originally launched in 1986. This collaboration that gave life to the TAG Heuer Formula 1 Kith reinterprets the iconic watch in 10 cheerful color variations, inspired by the most representative models of TAG Heuer’s past.
TAG Heuer Formula: A Timeless Design
The TAG Heuer Formula 1 was the first watch to bear the TAG Heuer name and marked the beginning of a love affair with collecting for many enthusiasts around the world. Its innovative design and lively color combinations have made it one of the most loved timepieces ever by aficionados of the brand.
Ronnie Fieg, founder of Kith, is one of these collectors who started with a red and black TAG Heuer Formula 1, and then became a fan of prestigious vintage watches. This collaboration was born from Fieg’s desire to bring back a watch that is still in fashion almost 40 years after its launch.
Modern updates
The new TAG Heuer Formula 1 Kith keeps the spirit of the original intact, updated with higher quality materials for 2024. The plastic crystal has been replaced with a sapphire one and the strap switches from plastic to rubber. The 35 mm size is perfect for boys and girls as well as for those with a small wrist and the lively and original color combinations, selected by TAG Heuer and Kith, reaffirm this watch as a cheerful and pleasant icon to wear.
For the first time in its illustrious history, TAG Heuer merges its own logo with that of a partner. The dial, rubber strap and caseback feature a reworked version of the emblem that unites Kith and Heuer. Kith’s motto, “Just Us,” also appears on the dial.
The TAG Heuer Formula 1 Kith Collection
The new collection includes a total of 10 watches available with steel bracelet or rubber strap. Seven models are exclusive to Kith and will shine in its stores around the world, with bright and bold color combinations limited to 250 pieces each. Kith’s exclusive models also include two versions with a steel bracelet and blue or green bezel, limited to 350 pieces each.
TAG Heuer offers two exclusives limited to 825 pieces each, with a black PVD case, black dial and bright touches of blue or green color on the bezel and strap. The most sought-after model in the collection is the one shared between TAG Heuer and Kith, limited to 1350 pieces, with a black bezel, red details and an eggshell-colored dial that recalls the patinated versions of the 1986 models.
Each TAG Heuer Formula 1 Kith will be presented in packaging that highlights its colorful design. The most exclusive and desirable edition of the collection will be a collector’s box containing all 10 limited edition watches.
Technical details
TAG Heuer Formula 1 Kith models feature a quartz movement with hour, minute, second and date functions. The dials feature luminescent printed indexes and hands with Super-LumiNova.
The 35 mm diameter steel or black PVD cases are waterproof to 200 meters and feature dedicated engravings on the caseback and bezel. The rubber straps or steel bracelet complete the sporty and contemporary look of these timepieces.
